The SME Inclusive Ecosystem Program or better known as I-SEE is a continuation of the High Impact Programme 6 (HIP 6) -Inclusive Innovation Programme which was implemented from 2015 and ended in 2020 in line with the SME Masterplan (2012-2020).
The objective of I-SEE is to empower the bottom 40% group in the income pyramid (B40) by leveraging innovation. The programme will encourage community transformation, including micro-enterprises in rural areas through guidance and provision of technical support and financial assistance. This programme will be implemented by SME Corp. Malaysia in collaboration with several strategic partners.
Scope of Assistance
- Grant assistance with a maximum of RM200,000 for each innovator/ SME for:
- Intellectual property protection including prior art search;
- Concept design and prototype development;
- Production prototypes and standards;
- Product testing and validation; and
- Compliance and regulatory certification.
- Inclusive Innovation Acquisition Fund (IIAF) of up to RM1 million for the Government to purchase appropriate intellectual property from innovators and place it in open source for free use by the B40 group.
- Support activities:
- Market intelligence and community profiling;
- Pilot projects in the community;
- Learning and training in the use of innovation in the community;
- Access and alignment of innovation to the market through the introduction of products to the market; and
- Outsourcing services in the field of law and specialised expertise).
