KNB labur RM85j kukuh perkhidmatan

KONTENA Nasional Bhd (KNB) menyasar untuk meningkatkan kualiti perkhidmatan ditawarkannya supaya setanding dengan pengendali perkhidmatan logistik bersepadu bertaraf antarabangsa dalam usaha mengukuhkan kedudukannya dalam industri logistik tempatan dan global yang semakin mencabar.

Dalam tempoh dua tahun akan datang, syarikat itu bercadang melabur RM85 juta bagi mengukuhkan infrastruktur teknologi maklumat (IT), meningkatkan jumlah gudang dan menggantikan trelernya yang berusia lebih daripada lapan tahun.

China tawar peluang niaga

SYARIKAT Malaysia digesa merebut peluang ditawarkan kerajaan China untuk meneroka sektor pembangunan infrastruktur di seluruh rantau ASEAN menerusi bantuan ditawarkan oleh Dana Infrastruktur China-ASEAN (CAIF) bernilai AS$10 bilion (RM).

Ketua Eksekutif Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (CIDB), Datuk Seri Dr Judin Abdul Karim, berkata penubuhan CAIF oleh kerajaan China adalah peluang keemasan untuk semua firma dari rantau ini termasuk Malaysia melebarkan operasi perniagaan masing-masing dengan lebih agresif dan berkesan.

New products to draw more tourists to Johor

Last year, some 1.6 million people visited Johor, with tourists from China contributing over a fifth of the total.

Johor tourism's executive committee chairman Hoo Seong Chang said the growth will be fuelled by new tourism products that will be launched between late this year and 2013.

He said more tourists from China, especially from the southern part, are anticipated to visit Johor after the good response received during the roadshow held by Tourism Johor in June this year.

Perdagangan dengan Jerman tidak terjejas

KUALA LUMPUR 23 Okt.- Perdagangan dua hala di antara Malaysia dan Jerman dijangka tidak terjejas walaupun negara tersebut terletak di zon Eropah yang sedang hebat dilanda krisis ketika ini.

Pengurus Besar Dewan Perniagaan dan Industri Malaysia-Jerman, Thomas Brandt berkata, persekitaran ekonomi Jerman masih baik dan merupakan salah satu negara di Eropah yang masih stabil walaupun berdepan dengan situasi sukar ketika ini.

Media Halal sasar edaran naik 50,000 sebulan

SEREMBAN 23 Okt. - Majalah iklan, Media Halal - terbitan sebuah syarikat bumiputera di negeri ini - menyasarkan peningkatan edaran sehingga 50,000 naskah sebulan ke seluruh negeri ini menjelang akhir tahun ini berbanding 20,000 naskah ketika ini.

Pengurus Jalinan Sejagat Sdn. Bhd., Nur Amirah Jaaffar berkata, Media Halal adalah majalah iklan yang diterbitkan bagi memberi peluang kepada para usahawan mempromosikan produk dan perkhidmatan mereka pada kos yang rendah.

PALM oil millers in Malaysia are leading the way in "greening" the palm oil supply chain by capturing greenhouse gas before it enters the atmosphere and turning it into green energy and organic fertiliser.

These anaerobic digestors behave like our intestines, containing friendly bacteria that feed on organic matter to produce flammable gas and solid waste. These are then turn into much needed electricity and fertiliser

Kontena Nasional to boost IT infrastructure

PETALING JAYA (Oct 23, 2011): Kontena Nasional Bhd, which has seen a gradual decline in its core container haulage business since the industry's liberalisation in 2000, expects revenue contribution from this segment to fall further to 40% next year from 61% in 2010.

Third-party logistics (3PL) services will overtake its container haulage operations by 2012 as the major contributor to the group's revenue, said CEO Hood Osman.
