The SMEs Go Global Programme is an initiative by the Malaysian Government that focuses on the internationalisation of local SMEs, especially those in high growth industries, to facilitate their expansion into global markets.
The programme is targeted at export-ready companies, as well as existing exporting companies that have the potential to explore new markets.
The initiative provided under this programme is in the form of financial asisstance to support internationalisation activities.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
50% of total project cost or maximum of RM200,000.00 (whichever is lower) on reimbursement basis.

- Market linkage services
- Practitioner experts’ services
- Rental of sales promotion office overseas
- Manufacturing of product prototypes for international buyers
- Supply chain management activities
- International buyers’ audit visits to Malaysia
- Market immersion activities overseas
- Quality and standard certification
- Participation in e-marketplace
Qualifying Criteria
- Companies registered under the Companies Act 1965 (private limited company) or Limited Liability Partnership (LLP);
whereas for professional bodies must be recognised overseas - Have Malaysian MSME Status Certification (https://smereg.smecorp.gov.my/reg/)
- At least 60% Malaysian equity
- Valid business licenses from local authorities and operating at valid business premises (subject to business activities)
- Have been in business operations for at least 3 years
- Minimum 3-Star SCORE rating (which is still valid at time of application)
- Minimum RM3 million in annual revenue
- Applications are open for new markets only
Application Form : Online application
Screening by Secretariat : Based on eligibility criteria
Application Processing : Including visits & interviews
Pitching : Through Approval Committee; Commitment Fee payable upon approval
Offer Letter : Companies to submit Acceptance Letter
Project Completion : Execute approved projects within given time frame
Claim Submission : Maximum of 2 claim submissions per year for each project (1st claim must be submitted within first 6 months)
